Cheat sheet
Four tiny reminders before you start any pattern.
The chain (ch) is the foundation of almost everything. Yarn over, pull through the loop, and repeat to build a row of little V shapes.
Insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over again and pull through both loops. A firm, tidy stitch for dense fabric.
The magic ring (MR) starts projects in the round with no hole in the middle — perfect for amigurumi and granny squares.
US and UK patterns use the same names for different stitches. A US single crochet is a UK double crochet, so always check which terms a pattern uses before you begin.
Good to know
Yes. Every PDF on Stitch Nest is completely free to download. There is no signup, no payment, no tracking and no cookies banner.

It depends on the pattern: check the terminology badge on each card. Remember that US single crochet equals UK double crochet.

About
Stitch Nest began as a little collection of crochet notes shared between friends. It grew into a free library so anyone, anywhere, can learn the craft without paying for a course. The text here is a placeholder — edit it to tell your own story.
Every pattern is shared with care. Grab a hook, pick a colour, and take it one stitch at a time.
Found a mistake, or want to send a photo of your make? I would love to hear from you.
